LEVEL Naturals creates natural, gluten free, vegan and cruelty free bath and body products under its own brand name and through private label contract manufacturing. Based in Los Angeles, LEVEL experienced significant growth in a short two year period of production and sales through boutiques stores (ABC Home in New York), spas and online. Today, LEVEL sells to Whole Foods, HEB, W Hotels, Ford and Indigo (a large Canadian retailer) and is actively in discussions with several other major retailers and distributors around the globe. LEVEL’s authentic products and attractive packaging have generated strong interest from vendors and garnered customer loyalty, receiving rave reviews in several print and online media.

idealight created the company’s initial business plan, facilitated participation at the 2012 Natural Products Expo which led to major new clients including HEB, Mother’s Market and Whole Foods, provided operations and strategic advisory, fulfilled key interim management roles during a critical growth period, and secured funding to enable the company’s expansion into major retail.

globefish media corporation provided interactive mobile applications and marketing solutions to major media and entertainment companies including CanWest Global Communications, impreMedia, Televisa, Getty Images, and Fandome an Interpublic owned venture.

globefish hired idealight to write a new business plan and go to market strategy that allowed the leverage its global technology partnerships and enter into a strategic alliance with leading mobile platform provider Velti, Ellow the leading mobile services company in Puerto Rico owned by Grupo Ferré Rangel, and Simplink a leading micro-billing payment and transaction company in the US. idealight assumed interim management roles, re-positioned the company as a mobile agency and informed strategy around key partnerships to drive growth.

The brand and its founder have been featured in many entertainment magazines and praised for their innovative style and high quality clothing that is distributed directly in 7 countries. idealight collaborated on the growth strategy, financing documents and new market development.

Scala

Scala is a leading custom home and renovation company based in Calgary, Alberta that wanted to update its website to better reflect their capabilities in tandem with their US expansion. Scala hired idealight to oversee the design, development and copy writing for their new website which would showcase Scala capabilities to its new celebrity and executive clientele in Los Angeles.

Village Green Global

Village Green provides scalable SaaS based enterprise carbon reporting, compliance and education programs to support Corporate Social Responsibility, energy efficiency and improved bottom line performance. Founded in Sydney the company has been operating for 8 years and developed reference sites with leading global companies including CISCO, Daimler Chrysler, and Westfield in Australia and is working with idealight on its US market penetration and financing strategy.

VOICE PICTURES

Project: Digital Strategy and Fundraising
Sector: Entertainment


Voice Pictures retained idealight to develop the digital strategy and business plan for an interactive gaming portal and community targeting kids from 5-12 based on its feature film starring Chevy Chase and Kari Matchett “Goose on the Loose”. Initial funding had been provided through grants from TeleFilm Canada and Bell New Media Fund and the Company needed a third party to guide the implementation of the business model, review the development strategy and make a recommendation whether to continue with the existing partner or seek a new one, and creating a financial model and strategy for securing new funding from grants and third party investors.

idealight re-wrote the development plan and recommended a local web development partner to build the portal who subsequently took a vested interest in developing and launching a series of games that ultimately saved the company over $150,000 in development costs. idealight also contributed to securing additional funding to continue development of the project.

French Company

Project: Acquisition out of Bankruptcy
Sector: Media - Content Syndication


French Company was a successful content syndication company based in Paris. The Company had secured a commitment for a significant round of funding from a reputable European VC firm but the deal collapsed at the last minute forcing the company into bankruptcy. An idealight principal was retained by a US news syndication company and competitor to the French company to acquire the technology. Stepping into the process within 24 hours of notification and managed a challenging and time sensitive due diligence and buyout process involving the French bankruptcy system, the principal completed the acquisition of the technology and the sale to the US competitor.

French Biotechnology Company

Project: Buyout, refinancing and re-launch of R&D company
Sector: Biotech


French Biotechnology Company was an R&D company based in France that had developed a unique, patented technology to convert liquids to very fine particles. The Company was undercapitalized and the technology had not been commercialized. One of idealight’s principals, acting as part of a US-based private equity team, acquired the Company from the founders, recapitalized it, and developed a plan to commercialize and re-launch the technology. Developing the plan required a detailed market study of the various applications for the technology ranging from needle-free injection systems, military applications, to commercial air treatment systems. A conclusion was made to pursue the air treatment sector. After choosing its new market, the company was re-launched in the United States with an idealight principal and other members of the private equity team stepping into operational roles while the company was incubated, product development completed and beta clients secured. A detailed business plan including financial forecasts, product development plan, and staffing plan were developed. One of idealight’s principals served on the Board of Directors and as interim CFO.

The Company

Project: Launch of Digital Division for Traditional Media Company
Sector: Media -Broadcasting


The Company was a large, publicly traded broadcasting corporation with a broad US presence that wanted to leverage its offline presence with a complementary online strategy. An idealight principal, as one of the incubators of the broadcasting business, undertook the entire initiative, beginning with writing a business plan, developing a financial forecast, securing board approval and funding and ultimately launching an Internet Services subsidiary for the company which entailed local portals and other services that leveraged the online/offline presence of the company and generated significant incremental revenue.
